What I did during my winter break...

Even though our summer break is longer, I find that I truly relax and have a lot more leisure time the week after Christmas. I tend to stay in my pyjamas for most of the day and I tinker with this and that.
One afternoon I baked this yummy Croque Monsieur a-la- Martha Stewart.

I started journalling in this book- which was bound by Natalea (thanks so much!!)

I worked on some birthday and swap hostess gifts.

I took down the Christmas decorations and made this banner with my favorite Papaya post cards.

I actually read! I have 4 books in the works. (Yup that's my boot and I made this for my Kobo wall paper )

I even made a case for my Kobo!

Then on the last day- which is today- I hit some hobby and scrapbook stores and got some supplies for some projects I am so excited to get started on. I can't wait to crack open this Prims issue too.

This year I will be starting a diary. Because my time is limited, I got the 'One Line a Day' -5 year- journal through Amazon. Amazon has other cool journals, like the 'One Sketch a Day', 'My Quotable Kid' -where you keep track of the funny things your kids say- and the 'Reading Journal'- where you document the books you read. I'll never forget the great experience I had- while completing the 'Wreck this Book' journal :)

Well I'm all showered and already in my Pjs. I'm off to bed- with magazine in hand. Have a great week! I know I will welcome the peace and quiet- with the kids going back to school!

The diary idea is great . . . especially having the kids around too when you are writing in it. Love the new banner you created out of post cards. Don't you just love Prims magazine . . . so much inspiration. Enjoy your week and lots of blessings, Sandy:O)

You have made some great things.... I've seen the line a day journal.... glad you are doing it! I'm really better with a diary than a journal... Enjoy next week!

I love that you have accomplished so much!! And ALL of it sounded FUN! Being a lifelong journaler, I was really drawn to those ideas of writing one LINE daily, and of keeping a reading journal. Mercy! Had I kept one of THOSE as long as I've kept daily journals, I would have to hire a separate MOVING VAN just for that! (Should I ever again move, I mean.) But I WILL add those 2 journal ideas to my other daily journals! Your mantel with the VERY cool busts is AWESOME, Sandy! I would consider myself well-traveled if only I could tour yours, Nat's, & Viv's wonderful houses! SOOOOOO much to see! Have a happy day & a SPLENDID week!

Sounds like a great plan. I saw your head vases, I would love to start collecting them, yours are great! Enjoy your books and journal, I think even I could do a one liner!

I thought you were going to tell us you had a chicken and she laid eggs in that first pic... then I would have said you lost girl, lol.
What's with the Croque Monsieurs? Why do they have to be so yummy and fattening? Yours look delish BTW.
LOVE the one line daily. That I could handle. And I adore the head vases you have. I've told you that before, but I sure do LOVE them all. The last one on the right looks like you : )
I've changed things around in the cottage. Only on the walls, cuz there's no room to move furniture in here. I wish I could, but I can't.
Oh and about the frames. I have iPhoto, Image Framer which has it's own frames, but there all ugly, and Picasa does that matter?? I'll send you a couple pics, but I really should try and do this myself somehow?
Happy Monday and I'm glad you had a great break.

Had to come back and see that bench. I love it. Thanks for offering to "frame" me.
Getting ready to go to Montreal and be with sister for her sister's funeral. Hair and nails are in order for sure.
I see something like a hamster in Emilly's hand while playing with her doll house?? Am I seeing things? I hope I didn't screw up on the name.
